The Meat processing Unit working in Karadikkunnu of Muthalamada is creating pollution to the nearby environment including water, soil, atmosphere as well as it badly affects the forest ecosystem. The place is in Kollengode range of Nemmara forest division, kerala.

It is known that the owners of the factory encroached about 1/2 acre of forest land in this regard. they were using heavy equipments for altering the land. We can see trees planted by forest department in this area.

The area is very rich in biodiversity and wide range of flora and fauna can be seen. It is a very good habitat for our national bird Peacok, deers etc. Leopard sighting also reported from this place.

Many tribe families live in the area and are dependent on forest as well as the water from the nearby ecosystems.

So you may be kind enough to enquire the matter with due importance and protect the forest and adjoining area from pollutions. You are also requested to take legal action on the persons concerned who commit ecosystem damages
